Primary application focus

The majority of the respondents in our 2014 survey are working within the fields of agriculture, basic research, bioinformatics, and microbial research. This was also the trend for our 2013 survey but still the numbers have moved around a bit. Compared to the 2013 list of application focuses, evolution biology is the area with the highest increase. The number of respondents working in evolution biology has increased by more that 70 percent. The areas of cancer research and agricultural research also show significant increases of 39.1 and 35 percent, respectively.
